Ben­gal tiger dies of kid­ney fail­ure

KARACHI— A Ben­gali tiger in Karachi zoo died from acute kid­ney fail­ure on Fri­day.

Ac­cord­ing to de­tails, the 16- year- old tiger was brought in the zoo in 2004.

The zoo ad­min­is­tra­tion has stated that the tiger was not eat­ing prop­erly for some days af­ter which he was med­i­cally ex­am­ined dur­ing which the ill­ness was iden­ti­fied. Mo­ham­mad Fa­heem Khan, Di­rec­tor Karachi Zoo­log­i­cal Gar­dens, said that Ben­gal tigers usu­ally live not more than 17 or 18 years. He said that the ten­der for a new tiger at the zoo will be sub­mit­ted to­day ( Satur­day).— SABAH
