Ban on schools

Pakistan Observer - - NATIONAL -

BAJAUR—PMLN Member National Assembly from Bajaur tribal agency Shahabuddin Khan has expressed concern over the ban on construction of new schools in FATA by Fata secretariat and called for the immediate with-drawal of the decision. Talking to reporters here he criticized the Fata secretariat for imposing ban on construction of new schools in the tribal areas saying the decision would put negative impact over education sector in the region. The ban on construction of new schools would not only sabotage the efforts being taken for the promotion of education but will also create hurdles for the students of tribal areas. The decision was beyond understanding as the existing numbers of educational institutions were too short for the students of the tribal areas, he elaborated. The population of the tribal areas has significantly increased over the last ten years.
