Ed­u­ca­tion best weapon to com­pete ter­ror­ism: Qaim

KHAIRPUR—Sindh Chief Min­is­ter Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that ed­u­ca­tion is the best weapon to com­pete with ter­ror­ism, un­rest, un­em­ploy­ment and other prob­lems. In con­nec­tion to ed­u­ca­tion of Khairpur, the present Sindh gov­ern­ment has re­stored its his­tor­i­cal po­si­tion by cre­at­ing it an ed­u­ca­tion city, that is why, our op­po­nents were also ad­mir­ing us.

Speak­ing to me­dia per­son­nel and ad­dress­ing an ed­u­ca­tion achievement pro­gramme or­ga­nized by NOWA Pirb­hat here, he said, to pro­mote ed­u­ca­tion, Sindh Gov­ern­ment has achieved re­mark­able achieve­ments.

He said, es­tab­lish­ing ma­jor ed­u­ca­tion in­sti­tu­tions at ru­ral ar­eas, Sindh gov­ern­ment has proved that our gov­ern­ment by fol­low­ing the vi­sion of Sha­heed Zul­fiqar Ali Bhutto and Sha­heed Mo­htarma Be­nazir Bhutto has driven out peo­ple of Sindh from il­lit­er­acy.

He fur­ther said, Sindh prov­ince is en­riched with nat­u­ral re­sources and its peo­ple are ed­u­ca­tion friendly, and added, Shah Mehmoood Qureshi dur­ing his re­cent visit of Sindh Prov­ince, has ad­mired its peo­ple, which was a proof of our suc­cess­ful­ness.

The Chief Min­is­ter, ad­mir­ing the ser­vices of Sindh NOWA Pirb­hat and its PD Mola Bux Larik, has said that NOWA Pirb­hat was pro­vid­ing modern ed­u­ca­tion to 4 thou­sand chil­dren of 22 schools of Dis­trict Khairpur, which was an ad­mirable act. He an­nounced a grant of Rs.25 lacs for the de­vel­op­ment of NOWA Pirb­hat.

Ear­lier this PD NOWA Pirb­hat Mola Bux Larik, ad­dress­ing the pro­gram said, the or­ga­ni­za­tion had started work since, 1992 and pro­vided ed­u­ca­tion to 2800 girls through So­cial Ac­tion Pro­gram in ru­ral ar­eas. Dur­ing past 14 years, be­sides the girl ed­u­ca­tion, their mothers were also pro­vided ed­u­ca­tion train­ings, he added.—INP
