IGP awards Karak po­lice for ar­rest­ing no­to­ri­ous PO

PE­SHAWAR—The In­spec­tor Gen­eral of Po­lice Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Dur­rani awarded Karak po­lice of­fi­cials on ar­rest­ing a no­to­ri­ous pro­claimed of­fender sen­tenced to death six times by the court.

The cer­e­mony to this af­fect was held at CPO Pe­shawar on Sunday.

Ac­cord­ing to de­tails, an en­counter took place be­tween ac­cused Hakim Zada and Karak po­lice in the moun­tains of Speena Bana and the ac­cused was ar­rested in in­jured con­di­tion.

Hakim Zada was wanted to po­lice in dif­fer­ent mur­der cases in which he had killed six women and three men. The ac­cused was sen­tenced six time death penalty by the court and was de­camped from Bannu jail dur­ing mil­i­tants at­tack.

Af­ter de­camp­ing from jail he kept con­tin­ued killing spree and also re­mained in­volved in da­coit and kid­nap­ping for ran­som.

The en­counter with the po­lice he fired and crit­i­cally in­jured a per­son who was graz­ing his cat­tle in the hills of Zarhay Speena Banda. The DPO him­self led the po­lice party from the front by wear­ing bul­let proof jacket and af­ter three hours en­counter the ac­cused was ar­rested in in­jured con­di­tion.

One Kalash­nikov, four mag­a­zine, 100 rounds, one bun­dle wear and two hand grenade re­cov­ered from him.

Sim­i­larly the po­lice party of Gur­guri po­lice sta­tion in an ac­tion had foiled the smug­gling of cha­ras from Karak to Pun­jab by re­cov­er­ing 67 kg of cha­ras from the se­cret cav­i­ties of a mo­tor car.

Ad­dress­ing on the oc­ca­sion the IGP Nasir Khan Dur­rani ap­pre­ci­ated the per­for­mance of Karak po­lice in these cases by say­ing that the DPO and his team was ex­hibit­ing ex­cel­lent polic­ing to be em­u­lated by rest of the jawans of the force.

The awardees were di­rected to fur­ther ex­pe­dite their ac­tion against the out laws par­tic­u­larly the nar­cotics smug­glers with the ac­tive sup­port of the gen­eral pub­lic.—APP
