My beautiful Lahore

Pakistan Observer - - OPINION - WAJEEHA AHMAD

? One of my relatives from Karachi visited Lahore few days ago. They asked me to take them out to visit beautiful and famous places in Lahore. All of them were so surprised and happy to see the beauty and cleanliness of Lahore. They envy the people of Lahore, as there are piles of dirt and broken roads in the most- populated city of Pakistan, Karachi. One of my cousins asked me that she had perceived different picture of Lahore on Social Media and destructive images everywhere but what I observed is totally different sight.

? Civil society is criticising the government of Punjab for diminishing parks and playgrounds for the construction of Orange Line Metro train whereas the facts tell us otherwise. Our CM is very fond of beauty in gardens and greenery. PHA is doing wonderful job and made city Lahore so beautiful. Lahore is the greenest city of Pakistan. Five more agencies of kind of PHA have been created to beautify province of Punjab. Critics should not ignore all these facts and places like New Kareem Market Road, Rose Garden, Garden Town, New Airport, Kalma Chowk, Flower Carpet LBC Canal, Flower Bed Jillani Park, Jallo Park, Liberty Roundabout, Mall Road decoration, Main Boulevard, Gulberg and list goes on. Now I know why Lahore is called “City of Gardens”. — Lahore
