PFM moot unique opportunity for accountancy professionals
ISLAMABAD— President Institute of Charter Accountants of Pakistan ( ICAP), Hafiz Mohammad Yousaf has said that the Public Financial Management ( PFM) Conference presents a unique opportunity to the accountancy profession of the country bringing together leaders and innovators. “We will continue our support to the public sector and this conference is a platform to discuss the challenges and debate solutions for ensuring improvements in public sector”, he said this, while adressing the second Public Financial management ( PFM) Conference organized by ICAP in colloboration with Chartered Institute of public Finance and Accountancy ( CIPFA) here on Monday.
The theme of the conference ‘ PEM for Service Delivery’ brought together a wealth of expert speakers from Pakistan and abroad to debate and discuss the role of finance as strategic decision makers and business partners. The chairman of the organizing committee, Council member ICAP Rashid Ibrahim highlighted the theme of PFM conference and the recommendation emerged from that conference. He said PFIM is essential for better management, scrutiny, spending and related stakeholders. Better PFM will present much needed boost to the economy.
Director General Audit, KPK Muhammad Faheem in his presentation said that PFM makes stakeholders concentrate on transparency and risk management. He also highlighted the other benefits and future of PFM included improvements in information analytics for informed decision making, increased IT governance, continued efficiency improvements in infrastructure and keeping the momentum of offering innovative products and services paperless business processes.— APP
