M at Fire Bri­gade Head­quar­ters, Sec­tor G- 7, Is­lam­abad. Chair­man CDA, Ma­roof Afzal will be the chief guest on the oc­ca­sion. May 5 PRIZE dis­tri­bu­tion cer­e­mony amongst the top most Huf­faz of the age of ten years or be­low will be held on Thurs­day 5th May 2016 at 11am, in Quaid- eAzam Au­di­to­rium of In­ter­na­tional Is­lamic Univer­sity, Faisal Masjid, Is­lam­abad. Sar­dar Muham­mad Yousaf, Fed­eral Min­is­ter for Re­li­gious Af­fairs will be the chief guest and Ab­dul­lah Mar­zouk Al- Zahrani Am­bas­sador of Saudi Ara­bia will pre­side over the cer­e­mony. RAWALPINDI— A day­long train­ing sem­i­nar in or­der to stan­dard­ize train­ing mod­ule as per op­er­a­tional dic­tates was or­ga­nized at Emer­gency Ser­vices Academy ( ESA).

The Di­rec­tor Gen­eral Pun­jab Emer­gency Ser­vice, Res­cue 1122, Brig. ( R) Dr. Ar­shad Zia and Di­rec­tor Gen­eral Emer­gency Ser­vices Academy, Res­cue 1122, Brig. ( R) Amir Hamza jointly chaired the sem­i­nar which was at­tended by Reg- is­trar Academy Dr. Muham­mad Farhan Khalid, Re­gional Emer­gency Of­fi­cers ( North and South) Mian Rif­fat Zia and Dr. Zaf­far Shah, District Emer­gency Of­fi­cer Rawalpindi Dr. Ab­dur Rehman, DEO Ba­hawalpur Dr. Abid Rahim Chan­nar, DEO Sar­godha Dr. Mazhar Shah, DEO Sialkot Syed Ka­mal Abid, DEO RY Khan Dr. Ab­dul Staar Babar, other of­fi­cers and fac­ulty mem­bers of the Academy, says a press re­lease is­sued here on Tues­day.

DEO Sialkot pre­sented de­tailed re­view of 16- week long Ba­sic Train­ing Course, fol­lowed by pre­sen­ta­tion by DEO Rawalpindi on Moun­tain Res­cue Course while DEO Rahim Yar Khan pre­sented a de­tailed overview, sug­ges­tions and rec­om­men­da­tions about de­vel­op­ment of short cour­ses for in­dus­tries and other or­ga­ni­za­tions.

Brig. ( R) Amir Hamza ad­dress­ing the work­shop said in con­sul­ta­tion with Di­rec­tor Gen­eral Res­cue 1122, the Academy has re­duced du­ra­tion of Ba­sic Train­ing Course from 6 to 4 months in or­der to meet the chal­lenge posed by rapid ex­pan­sion of Ser­vice to Tehsil level and repli­ca­tion of the Emer­gency Man­age­ment Model in other prov­inces.

He said, Emer­gency Paramed­i­cal, Search and Res­cue, Fire, Wire­less Com­mu­ni­ca­tion and IT, Boat Op­er­a­tions and Phys­i­cal Fit­ness Train­ing and other cour­ses have been in­cor­po­rated in Ba­sic Train­ing Course, which has been de­vel­oped on in­ter­na­tional guide­lines.

He said, it was need of the hour to stan­dard­ize train­ing mod­ules to en­hance op­er­a­tional ca­pac­ity of the Ser­vice and to ful­fill pro­mo­tional cri­te­ria for wel­fare of res­cue per­son­nel.

Brig. Amir Hamza said, the­o­ret­i­cal train­ing be­ing im­parted to res­cue cadets in ESA and later they are sent to Mur­ree where they go through prac­ti­cal demon­stra­tion for moun­tain res­cue, fall from height and to evac­u­ate trapped vic­tims in­side the ve­hi­cles fallen from the height.

DG Res­cue 1122 said that his top pri­or­ity was to get ser­vice struc­ture im­ple­mented on ear­li­est thus open­ing the chan­nel of pro­mo­tion and wel­fare of the res­cuers.

He said Res­cue 1122 will pro­vide all kinds of as­sis­tance to the Academy for ca­pac­ity build­ing and en­hanc­ing their train­ing skills. He also as­sured the DEO Rawalpindi that he will be pro­vided all kind of as­sis­tance for train­ing of Res­cuers at Mur­ree.
