En­gro Games: MT re­cruit­ment com­pe­ti­tion con­cludes


KARACHI— The En­gro Univer­sity Link­ages team wrapped up their first ever En­gro Games: MT Re­cruit­ment Com­pe­ti­tion at a grand event held re­cently at the PC ho­tel. This un­con­ven­tional month- long re­cruit­ment con­test ran par­al­lel to En­gro Cor­po­ra­tion’s es­teemed MT Re­cruit­ment Drive. The pi­lot was fo­cused on four key uni­ver­si­ties; par­tic­i­pants from IBA, KSBL, LSE and LUMS un­der­went a se­ries of as­sess­ments, start­ing with The El­e­va­tor Pitch elim­i­na­tion round. 2000 grad­u­at­ing stu­dents were tested for the En­gro MT Re­cruit­ment Drive, of which only 200 el­i­gi­ble can­di­dates were con­sid­ered for The En­gro Games.

While stu­dents com­peted in ran­domly as­signed teams, each con­tes­tant was as­sessed in­di­vid­u­ally on their con­tri­bu­tion to the busi­ness sim­u­la­tions. The Top 20 finalists were short­listed af­ter they were eval­u­ated on their the­o­ret­i­cal knowl­edge and prac­ti­cal ap­pli­ca­tions in “Pipe it up” a sup­ply chain and op­er­a­tions man­age­ment ac­tiv­ity, and “Drink fit” a mar­ket­ing and brand ac­ti­va­tion ac­tiv­ity. The cul­mi­nat­ing round in­volved a case study com­pe­ti­tion where the Top 10 of Karachi met with the Top 10 of Lahore in an in­tense over- night case com­pe­ti­tion at the En­gro Guest House on Thurs­day 28th April.

The Grand Fi­nale held at PC Ho­tel Dilkusha Hall on Fri­day 29th April, con­cluded the En­gro Games with 4 pre­sen­ta­tions from each of these teams and “Team Mithaas” tak­ing away the cash prize of Rs. 50,000/-. Speak­ing at the oc­ca­sion En­gro Cor­po­ra­tion’s Pres­i­dent and CEO, Khalid Si­raj Sub­hani com­mented: “It gives me great plea­sure to an­nounce the suc­cess­ful end of En­gro Cor­po­ra­tion’s first ever En­gro Games.

It has been an ex­cit­ing few weeks and we would like to thank all the stu­dents who par­tic­i­pated in the pro­gram. I would also like to take this op­por­tu­nity to thank the En­gro team who played a piv­otal role in mak­ing this pro­gram a re­ward­ing one.” In his speech, Sub­hani made a sur­pris­ing an­nounce­ment and hired four Man­age­ment Trainees from the Top 20 finalists; Aye­sha Waseem ( LSE), Muham­mad Ahmed Saigol ( LUMS), SaniyaSadaqat ( IBA) and Su­fian Salam ( IBA) all went home with ap­point­ment let­ters in their hands!
