Bri­tish Busi­ness Cen­tre, SEED Ven­tures sign MoU


KARACHI—Bri­tish Busi­ness Cen­tre (BBC) and SEED Ven­tures have signed a Mem­o­ran­dum of Un­der­stand­ing (MoU) for the de­vel­op­ment of en­tre­pre­neur­ial land­scape be­tween Pak­istan and UK. An an­nounce­ment on Wed­nes­day said that the SEED Ven­tures, is an en­ter­prise de­vel­op­ment or­gan­i­sa­tion that works to pro­mote and fa­cil­i­tate en­trepreneur­ship, which will help pro­mote trade, in­dus­try, in­vest­ment and eco­nomic re­la­tions be­tween the UK and Pak­istan. Fur­ther­more, the two en­ti­ties will work to­gether to de­velop the en­ter­prise and so­cial en­ter­prise land­scape in the two coun­tries through cross-bor­der re­la­tions and ini­tia­tives.

The MoU was signed by Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer and Co-Founder, SEED Ven­tures, Faraz Khan, and Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer, Bri­tish Busi­ness Cen­tre, Mala­hat Awan in pres­ence of Dr Ishrat Hu­sain, for­mer Gover­nor State Bank of Pak­istan and the coun­try’s prom­i­nent econ­o­mist, Bri­tish Deputy High Com­mis­sioner in Karachi, John Tuc­knott MBE, Di­rec­tor and Co-Founder, SEED Ven­tures, Khusro An­sari as well as prom­i­nent mem­bers of the busi­ness community. Ac­cord­ing to the MoU, SEED Ven­tures and Bri­tish Busi­ness Cen­tre have agreed to work col­lab­o­ra­tively as part­ners to en­hance, pro­mote and sup­port the en­tre­pre­neur­ial seg­ment of Pak­istan and the UK through cross­bor­der en­ter­prise de­vel­op­ment, lo­cal busi­ness so­lu­tions, and 360-de­gree busi­ness con­sul­tan­cies. In this re­gard, they will be cre­at­ing syn­er­gies with the de­vel­op­ment sec­tor, the pri­vate sec­tor, as well as the lo­cally op­er­at­ing UK or­gan­i­sa­tions. Speak­ing at the cer­e­mony as a chief guest, Dr. Ishrat Hu­sain, a for­mer Gover­nor of State Bank of Pak­istan, said that the bi­lat­eral trade and in­vest­ment re­la­tion­ship be­tween our two coun­tries holds great sig­nif­i­cance for the Govern­ment of Pak­istan.
