Apex Committee reviews NAP implementation, security in KP, FATA
PESHSAWAR—Apex Committee of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in its 45th meeting held with Governor Engr Iqbal Zafar Jhagra in the chair on Thursday; reviewed implementation of National Action Plan and discussed matters related to return process of displaced persons with special focus on overall law and order situation in KP and FATA.
The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervaiz Khan Khattak, Corps Commander Peshawar Lt Gen Hidayat-ur-Rehman, Chief Secretary KP, Amjad Ali Khan, IGP Nasir Khan Durrani, IGFC, Maj Gen Mazhar Shaheen Mahmood, Commandant Frontier Constabulary, Liaqat Ali Khan, Additional Chief Secretary FATA, Muhammad Aslam Kamboh, Principal Secretary to Governor, Sikandar Qayum, Secretary Home KP and other concerned offi- cials.
The Committee discussed in detail the current law and order situation prevailing in KP and FATA and reviewed the progress on implementation of the previous decisions and the return process of displaced persons in tribal areas. The Committee also reviewed progress on implementation of the Na-tional Action Plan and expressed their satisfaction on progress and directed to take further steps in this regard.
The meeting was also briefed about the pace of progress on the ongoing security measures as well as the repatriation and rehabilitation arrangements in the affected areas. It was decided in meeting that expeditious steps would be taken to ensure the dignified repatriation of TDPs to their homes.
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engr Iqbal zafar Jhagra welcomed the participants of the meeting saying that entire nation is united in war against wave of militancy and terrorism.
