IS­LAM­ABAD —The first ever In­au­gu­ral Alumni Re­cep­tion of Uni­ver­sity of Lon­don In­ter­na­tional Pro­grammes was held in Ser­ena Ho­tel Is­lam­abad last day, says a Press Re­lease. The event was at­tended by the High Com­mis­sioner UK, His Ex­cel­lency Thomas Drew, Chief

Ex­ec­u­tive and Pro Vice Chan­cel­lor Uni­ver­sity of Lon­don In­ter­na­tional Pro­grammes Dr. Mary Sti­asny , Si­mon Askey Head of Un­der­grad­u­ate Laws Uni­ver­sity of Lon­don In­ter­na­tional Pro­grammes , Lisa Pierre Head of Alumni En­gage­ment and Saad Wasim, Coun­try Head Uni­ver­sity of Lon­don In­ter­na­tional Pro­grammes Pakistan along with renowned Ed­u­ca­tion­ists in­clud­ing Chaudhry Faisal Mush­taq CEO Roots Mil­len­nium Schools , Khadija Mush­taq, Walid Mush­taq , Dr. Nee­lam Hus­sain, Heads of Reg­u­la­tion Au­thor­i­ties, Part­ners of renowned Law Firms , Key Em­ploy­ers and a large num­ber of Uni­ver­sity of Lon­don Alumni and cur­rent Stu­dents.

The Bri­tish High Com­mis­sioner spoke highly of the Uni­ver­sity of Lon­don and stressed upon the im­por­tance of Ed­u­ca­tion within Pakistan. He felt that the Br­tish Gov­ern­ments fo­cus on Ed­u­ca­tion through Bri­tish Coun­cil and Uni­ver­sity of Lon­don In­ter­na­tional pro­grammes was the way for­ward for growth and pros­per­ity within Pakistan. Dr. Mary Sti­asny, Pro Vice Chan­cel­lor and Chief Ex­ec­u­tive re­view the set tar­gets.

Nisar said there is also need to fur­ther im­prove Uni­ver­sity of Lon­don In­ter­na­tional Pro­grammes high­lighted within her ad­dress the high achieve­ments of Pak­istani Stu­dents in the In­ter­na­tional Pro­grammes. Pakistan be­ing the 6th largest mar­ket for Uni­ver­sity of Lon­don In­ter­na­tional Pro­grammes has more than 3000 stu­dents study­ing within the coun­try and has pro­duced more than 2000 grad­u­ate’s mostly renowned lawyers and so­cial sci­ences alum­nus.

Si­mon Askey the Head of Un­der­grad­u­ate Laws talked highly of their Law Stu­dents within Pakistan and ap­pre­ci­ated the three stu­dents in Pakistan which se­cured the first class dis­tinc­tion in the whole course. A to­tal of seven stu­dents around the world se­cured a first class dis­tinc­tion mech­a­nism be­tween the two coun­tries in­tro­duced to con­trol or­ga­nize crime, hu­man in the laws course and for­tu­nately three be­longed from Pakistan this time around. Lisa Pierre, Head of Alumni En­gage­ment was very pleased to meet the Pak­istani Alumni and Alumni Am­bas­sadors and was very hope­ful for many more Uni­ver­sity of Lon­don events in Pakistan in the fu­ture.

Saad Wasim, Coun­try Head Uni­ver­sity of Lon­don In­ter­na­tional Pro­grammes ap­pre­ci­ated how the of­fi­cials within the Gov­ern­ment and Ed­u­ca­tion Sec­tor wel­comed the Pro Vice Chan­cel­lors visit to Pakistan. He also thanked the Alumni for tak­ing out time to at­tend this im­por­tant in­au­gu­ral Alumni Re­cep­tion of Pakistan. The Se­nior Del­e­ga­tion of the Uni­ver­sity of Lon­don met with the smuggling, se­cu­rity of borders and timely in­for­ma­tion shar­ing. —APP Ed­u­ca­tion Min­is­ter, Chief Jus­tice of Pakistan, Higher Ed­u­ca­tion Com­mis­sion Chair­man, Spe­cial As­sis­tant on For­eign Af­fairs to the PM, Bri­tish Coun­cil Head, DG For­eign Ser­vices Academy and the se­nior of­fi­cials of the Pakistan Bar Coun­cil and the Plan­ning Com­mis­sion of Pakistan in this im­por­tant visit to Pakistan. The Alumni Re­cep­tion was very well at­tended with more than 350 Alumni and cur­rent stu­dents be­ing part of it.

It was de­clared the big­gest Alumni Re­cep­tion for the Uni­ver­sity of Lon­don In­ter­na­tional Pro­grammes in the World. The Alumni Re­cep­tion fol­lowed with a fan­tas­tic per­for­mance by the Rock star Ali Az­mat.

Min­is­ter of State for Fed­eral Ed­u­ca­tion and Pro­fes­sional Train­ing, Ba­ligh ur Rehman in a meet­ing with the Deputy Ed­u­ca­tion Min­is­ter Mal­dives Azleen Ahmed and his del­e­ga­tion. Coun­try Head Uni­ver­sity of Lon­don Saad Wasim with UoL CEO and Pro VC Mary Sti­asny and Bri­tish High Com­mis­sioner at Alumni Re­cep­tion in Is­lam­abad. Ira­nian Am­bas­sador Me­hdi Hoonar­doost called In­te­rior Min­is­ter Chaud­hary Nisar Ali Khan.
