Win­ners of Hifz-oQi­rat com­pe­ti­tion awarded cash prizes

IS­LAM­ABAD—Min­is­ter for Re­li­gious Af­fairs and In­ter­faith Har­mony, Sar­dar Muham­mad Yousaf on Thurs­day dis­trib­uted cash prizes and cer­tifi­cates among the win­ners of the An­nual Na­tional Hifz-o-Qi­rat com­pe­ti­tion held here. The dis­tri­bu­tion cer­e­mony of cash prizes and cer­tifi­cates was or­ga­nized by the In­ter­na­tional Is­lamic Re­lief Or­ga­ni­za­tion (IIRO) and In­ter­na­tional Or­ga­ni­za­tion for Tah­feez-e-Qu­ran Kareem. Around 65 ‘Huf­faz and Qu­rah’ from all over the coun­try won the cash prizes with cer­tifi­cates in dif­fer­ent cat­e­gories.

The first, sec­ond and third po­si­tion hold­ers were awarded cash prize of Rs 10,000, Rs 8,000 and Rs 6,000 re­spec­tively. Speak­ing on the oc­ca­sion, the Min­is­ter con­grat­u­lated the suc­cess­ful con­tes­tants of Na­tional Hifz-o-Qi­rat com­pe­ti­tion and said that Qu­ran and Sun­nah pro­vides com­plete code of life for the whole hu­man­ity.

Sar­dar Yousaf said that the Mus­lims could im­prove their im­age by fol­low­ing the teach­ings of Qu­ran and life of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).

While stress­ing for unity and har­mony among the Mus­lim Ummah, he said, “We should put aside our in­ter­nal dif­fer­ence and forge unity among our ranks.” Fed­eral Min­is­ter for Re­li­gious Af­fairs also awarded per­son­ally cash prize of Rs 10,000 among the top six po­si­tion hold­ers of the event.—APP
