Chi­nese en­voy as­sures road net­work sup­port

SUKKUR—Act­ing Chi­nese Am­bas­sador to Pak­istan Zhao Li­jian on Fri­day re­as­sured that his coun­try will con­tinue to sup­port Pak­istan for ex­pan­sion of mo­tor­way net­work across the coun­try.

“We have pro­vided soft-loan for Mul­tan-Sukkur mo­tor­way” he said while speak­ing here at the foun­da­tion ly­ing cer­e­mony, ad­dressed by the Prime Min­is­ter Nawaz Sharif.

He said his gov­ern­ment at­taches

high pri­or­ity to up-gra­da­tion of Karako­rum High­way and ex­pan­sion of Mo­tor­way.

All nec­es­sary sup­port will be avail­able for this pur­pose; he said adding China-Pak­istan eco­nomic cor­ri­dor has opened nu­mer­ous op­por­tu­ni­ties for so­cio-eco­nomic up­lift of Pak­istan.

This, he said pro­vides equal op­por­tu­ni­ties to parts of the coun­try. He con­grat­u­lated the gov­ern­ment and the peo­ple of Pak­istan for their rapid de­vel­op­ment, par­tic­u­larly in the field of en­ergy and in­fra­struc­ture.

Zhao Li­jian fur­ther said that the Chi­nese com­pa­nies were do­ing their best in timely com­ple­tion of the pro­jects, un­der CPEC. The Chi­nese com­pa­nies en­joy ex­cel­lent rep­u­ta­tion for high qual­ity work in road con­struc­tion world­wide.—INP
