Fatima Jinnah Institute to be completed next financial year
LAHORE—Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab on Health Kh. Salman Rafique has said that necessary steps are being taken to complete construction of Fatima Jinnah Institute of Dental Sciences in the next fiscal year and it would be made operational in 2017. He further said that affiliation of the institution with any public sector medical college is also under consideration.
He said this while presiding over a meeting of a committee constituted by the Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to look into the construction work of Fatima Jinnah Institute of Dental Sciences, here today.
Besides, Secretary Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Najam Ahmed Shah, Additional Secretary Development Zaheer Abbas Malik, Member Health P&D Department Dr. Shabana Haider, Principal De’ Montmorency College of Dentistry, Lahore Prof. Dr. Waheed ul Hameed, Chief Engineer Communication & Works Department, Consultants of NESPAK, Chief Planning Officer Health Department Abdul Haq Bhatti, Additional Secretary Finance Dr. Noor ul Ain Fatima and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
It was informed that Rs. 500 million would spend on the completion of civil works of the institute. Secretary Health Najam Ahmed Shah said that efficient use of huge building of 222000 squire feet would be ensured. He said that it should be a purpose built building. He directed that revised PC-I of the building should immediately be prepared within 24 hours.
He directed that next meeting of the committee would be held within a week. Najam Ahmed Shah further said that government would provide sufficient funds for the completion of the institute in the next fiscal year.
Advisor to Chief Minister Kh. Salman Rafique said that Fatima Jinnah Institute of Dental Sciences would be a best institution of education and training of the dentists and it would produce well trained dentists to cater the future needs of dental health of the people.
