Fatima Jin­nah In­sti­tute to be com­pleted next fi­nan­cial year

LA­HORE—Ad­vi­sor to Chief Min­is­ter Pun­jab on Health Kh. Sal­man Rafique has said that nec­es­sary steps are be­ing taken to com­plete con­struc­tion of Fatima Jin­nah In­sti­tute of Den­tal Sci­ences in the next fis­cal year and it would be made op­er­a­tional in 2017. He fur­ther said that af­fil­i­a­tion of the in­sti­tu­tion with any pub­lic sec­tor med­i­cal col­lege is also un­der con­sid­er­a­tion.

He said this while pre­sid­ing over a meet­ing of a com­mit­tee con­sti­tuted by the Chief Min­is­ter Muham­mad She­hbaz Sharif to look into the con­struc­tion work of Fatima Jin­nah In­sti­tute of Den­tal Sci­ences, here to­day.

Be­sides, Sec­re­tary Spe­cial­ized Health­care & Med­i­cal Ed­u­ca­tion Na­jam Ahmed Shah, Ad­di­tional Sec­re­tary De­vel­op­ment Za­heer Ab­bas Ma­lik, Mem­ber Health P&D De­part­ment Dr. Sha­bana Haider, Prin­ci­pal De’ Mont­morency Col­lege of Den­tistry, La­hore Prof. Dr. Wa­heed ul Hameed, Chief En­gi­neer Com­mu­ni­ca­tion & Works De­part­ment, Con­sul­tants of NESPAK, Chief Plan­ning Of­fi­cer Health De­part­ment Ab­dul Haq Bhatti, Ad­di­tional Sec­re­tary Fi­nance Dr. Noor ul Ain Fatima and other con­cerned of­fi­cers at­tended the meet­ing.

It was in­formed that Rs. 500 mil­lion would spend on the com­ple­tion of civil works of the in­sti­tute. Sec­re­tary Health Na­jam Ahmed Shah said that ef­fi­cient use of huge build­ing of 222000 squire feet would be en­sured. He said that it should be a pur­pose built build­ing. He di­rected that re­vised PC-I of the build­ing should im­me­di­ately be pre­pared within 24 hours.

He di­rected that next meet­ing of the com­mit­tee would be held within a week. Na­jam Ahmed Shah fur­ther said that gov­ern­ment would pro­vide suf­fi­cient funds for the com­ple­tion of the in­sti­tute in the next fis­cal year.

Ad­vi­sor to Chief Min­is­ter Kh. Sal­man Rafique said that Fatima Jin­nah In­sti­tute of Den­tal Sci­ences would be a best in­sti­tu­tion of ed­u­ca­tion and train­ing of the den­tists and it would pro­duce well trained den­tists to cater the fu­ture needs of den­tal health of the peo­ple.
