Non-bail­able war­rants against Altaf, 20 oth­ers

KARACHI—An anti-ter­ror­ism court Karachi is­sued on Satur­day non-bail­able ar­rest war­rants again for Mut­tahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hus­sain and 20 other se­nior party lead­ers for de­liv­er­ing and fa­cil­i­tat­ing anti-Pak­istan speeches.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, ATC II and IX is­sued war­rants for the MQM supremo and sev­eral oth­ers, in­clud­ing Fa­rooq Sat­tar and Dr Khalid Maq­bool Sid­diqui, for de­liv­er­ing hate speech against the state.

The court fur­ther or­dered the in­ves­ti­ga­tion of­fi­cer to ar­rest and pro­duce the ac­cused in court on June 4. This is not the first time non-bail­able ar­rest war­rants have been is­sued for these in­di­vid­u­als.

In Jan­uary, a Karachi-based ATC is­sued non-bail­able ar­rest war­rants for Altaf and 20 oth­ers over the for­mer’s dis­parag­ing re­marks against Pak­istan Army in July 2015.

Se­nior party lead­ers Waseem Akhtar, Qa­mar Man­soor and Sal­man Mu­jahid are in­cluded in the list of those whose ar­rest war­rants have been is­sued.
