En­ergy cri­sis

ISLAMABAD— Mem­ber of Na­tional As­sem­bly (MNA) PML-N Shaista Pervez has said that the Gov­ern­ment was mak­ing all out ef­forts to over­come en­ergy cri­sis till Year-2018. Talk­ing to a pri­vate chan­nel, she said gov­ern­ment was mainly fo­cus­ing for the timely com­ple­tion of all de­vel­op­ment projects. She said power projects were ex­pected to be com­pleted till Year-2018 and load­shed­ding would be elim­i­nated by that time. She said many gas projects will also be com­pleted in 2017. Gov­ern­ment has ini­ti­ated de­vel­op­ment projects in all the prov­inces and was giv­ing equal at­ten­tion to it with­out any dustinc­tion, she added. She said NeelumJhelum project is an ex­pen­sive project that will be com­pleted soon. The gov­ern­ment is also plan­ning to ini­ti­ate Dasu and Bhasha dam, she added. She said Sukkur-Mul­tan sec­tion of mo­tor­way is the meag project of the coun­try. When the con­struc­tion of mo­tor­ways will be com­pleted and Gwadar will be linked to Kash­gar and Dushanbe, then busi­ness would in­crease and peo­ple-to-peo­ple con­tacts will be en­hanced, she added. Re­ply­ing to a ques­tion, she pointed out that the Prime Min­is­ter had al­ready an­nounced to up­grade Bannu air­port into an international air­port.—APP
