NBF plans lit­er­ary cer­e­monies, vis­its of stu­dents at Shehr-e-Kitab

ISLAMABAD—Na­tional Book Foun­da­tion (NBF) plans to to im­me­di­ately pre­pare a roadmap for the guid­ance of book lovers to reach the lo­ca­tion of “Shehr-e-Kitab” and to dis­play it at ap­pro­pri­ate cor­ners of the city.

Chair­ing a high level meet­ing, Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor NBF, Prof. Dr. Inam Ul Haq Javied said lit­er­ary cer­e­monies and vis­its of stu­dents from uni­ver­si­ties, col­leges, schools and cul­tural de­part­ments would be started soon.

“We are also for­ward­ing to es­tab­lish “Shehr-e-Kitab” at Karachi and Pe­shawar which was an­nounced by the Ad­vi­sor to PM, Ir­fan Sid­diqui while in­au­gu­rat­ing “She­her-e-Kitab” at Islamabad” he added, ac­cord­ing to news-re­lease is­sued here on Satur­day.

A rep­re­sen­ta­tive from 28 out­lets of “Shehr-e-Kitab”, Khalid Ma­sood and the of­fi­cers from dif­fer­ent sec­tions of NBF at­tended the meet­ing and gave their sug­ges­tions for the im­prove­ment of SHEHRE-KITAB’s day-to-day mat­ters.

MD NBF said, “Shehr-e-Kitab” is a lit­er­ary and cul­tural hub where the book lovers may have books of their own choice at sub­si­dized rates as well as the sta­tionery items which they need, un­der one roof.

The “Shehr-e-Kitab” Islamabad con­sists of 28 out­lets (shops) in­clud­ing Na­tional Book Foun­da­tion, Mr. Books, Ja­hangir Books, Kitab Ghar, Idara-e-Ilmo-Ir­fan, Al-Faisal Pub­lish­ers, Book Fin­ders, Old Book Cor­ner, BookMan, Readers Point, Rabia Book House, Ilmi Book De­pot, Book Val­ley and oth­ers.

The Man­age­ment of Na­tional Book Foun­da­tion has planned to in­tro­duce its “Shehr-e-Kitab” as a sub­sti­tute lit­er­ary point or tea house for the vis­i­tors of this city of books.—APP
