FBR to reward whistle-blowers for reporting tax evasion
ISLAMABAD—The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has introduced a reward scheme for whistle-blowers on tax evaders.
The board has announced a reward scheme urging people to report tax evasion and blow whistle on corrupt officials.
Reporting evasion of tax worth Rs 5 lac would get the person 25 percent of the amount.
Reporting tax evasion of over Rs 5 lac to Rs 10 would get the whistleblower ten percent of the amount and Rs 1 lac from the board.
Federal Board of Revenue has introduced a link at its website by tag ‘whistle-blower’ for the locals. The department has vowed to take stern action against those who are found guilty of embezzlement.—DNA
