Ad­ver­tis­ing As­so­ci­a­tion re- strength­ened

ISLAMABAD—Pak­istan Ad­ver­tis­ing As­so­ci­a­tion (PAA) held its first meet­ing af­ter a decade long slum­ber. Ma­sood Hashmi in his wel­come ad­dress thanked the me­dia rep­re­sen­ta­tives for join­ing the ses­sion on short no­tice. Dur­ing his ad­dress he en­light­ened the par­tic­i­pants about the re­spon­si­bil­i­ties of the As­so­ci­a­tion. He said that dur­ing the 10 years’ dys­func­tion, sev­eral agen­cies faced prob­lems with news­pa­pers, as well as pub­lic sec­tor clients. Due to the de­cen­tral­iza­tion of sev­eral Min­istries, cer­tain ad­ver­tis­ing agen­cies faced prob­lems in re­cov­er­ing their bills. He said that PAA has opened these cases and started work­ing to re­solve the is­sues and griev­ances in close co­op­er­a­tion of APNS and PBA.

PAA is the now the united fo­rum and plate form for all Ad­ver­tis­ing Agen­cies and will take mat­ter with Govt., APNS and PBA as and when re­quired. Mr. Ma­sood Hashmi and Mr. JawadHamy­ounem­phased that all agen­cies, re­gard­less of their com­pi­la­tion should work to­gether for the bet­ter­ment of this in­dus­try. It was also told that no agency can do Govt, busi­ness with­out PAA reg­is­tra­tion. He ex­pressed his con­fi­dences that in the up­com­ing mega event of Ad Asia 2019, PAA‘s per­for­mance will be as mem­o­rable as it was in 1989, when Pak­istan hosted an ad­ver­tis­ing con­fer­ence. He said that it would be a great op­por­tu­nity for us to change com­mon per­cep­tion re­gard­ing Pak­istan and pro­vide the par­tic­i­pants some good mem­o­ries and sto­ries that could be cher­ished. PAA Ex­ec­u­tive com­mit­tee de­cided to choose the of­fice bear­ers and Chair­man of the con­fer­ence. Ma­sood Hashmi was se­lected as the chair­man; whileSar­mad Ali pres­i­dent APNS would be the chair­man of the Or­ga­niz­ing com­mit­tee for this up­com­ing event. He said that the as­so­ci­a­tion will also make sure to pro­vide the youth with train­ing and skill de­vel­op­ment in ad­ver­tis­ing field. Ex­perts from all over the world will come to Pak­istan and par­tic­i­pate in train­ing work­shops and ses­sions. He said that to be­gin a jour­ney The hard­est part is to take the first step.
