NCWP to pro­mote brother­hood

FAISAL­ABAD— Na­tional Council of Writ­ers Pak­istan ( NCWP) is striv­ing hard to pro­mote brother­hood, pa­tience and tran­quil­ity, in the so­ci­ety through lit­er­a­ture.

This was stated by Chief Co­or­di­na­tor NCWP Sab­tain Raza Lodhi while ad­dress­ing a CNWP meet­ing at Faisal­abad Arts Council ( FAC) late Satur­day. He said the NCWP was pro­vid­ing a com­mon plat­form for en­cour­ag­ing new ta­lent in ad­di­tion to de­velop strong re­la­tions be­tween var­i­ous gov­ern­ment in­sti­tu­tions for the pro­mo­tion of lit­er­a­ture.

He said that it was pity and lit­er­a­ture as well as lit­er­ary per­son­al­i­ties were kept de­prived of their due re­spect and sta­tus in the past de­spite the re­al­ity that lit­er­ary per­sons were play­ing a dy­namic role in pre­sent­ing so­lu­tions of var­i­ous prob­lems be­sides pro­mot­ing pa­tience, brother­hood, love, peace and tran­quil­ity in the so­ci­ety.

He said the NCWP had also chalked out a strat­egy to save lan­guages, lit­er­a­ture, civ­i­liza­tion and other artis­tic works be­sides pro­mot­ing high qual­ity val­ues in the so­ci­ety.

He said that prac­ti­cal steps were be­ing taken for the pub­li­ca­tion of artis­tic works and lit­er­a­ture books be­sides trans­lat­ing them in international lan­guages so that char­ac­ter build­ing lit­er­ary books could be saved for fu­ture. Sec­re­tary Halq Arbab-e- Zauq Dr. Mehmood Raza Syed, renowned writ­ers Tahir Iqbal, Me­naal As­lam, Muham­mad Yousuf, Naeem Saqib, M Ash­faq Babar, Mehmood Raza Rasheed, Rukhsana Baloch and oth­ers also present.— APP
