200kg un­hy­gienic meat dis­posed off

FAISAL­ABAD— The Live­stock De- part­ment re­cov­ered 200 kilo­gram un­hy­gienic meat from two houses dur­ing crack­down here on Sun­day which was later dis­posed off.

On com­plaints of dwellers of the area, a team of Live­stock Dept. raided houses of Afzaal and No­man sit­u­ated in Sir Syed Town, in ju­ris­dic­tion of Fac­tory Area police sta­tion, Faisal­abad.

Dur­ing search 200 kilo­gram un­hy­gienic meat stocked in freez­ers of the two houses was re­cov­ered. The cul­prits, how­ever, man­aged to escape prior get­ting in­for­ma­tion of the raid.

The re­cov­ered meat was also spoiled which was later dis­posed off by the Live­stock Dept staffers.

Neigh­bour­ers of the flee­ing ac­cused said that the cul­prits used to bring huge quan­tity of such meat from dif­fer­ent cities, freeze it in big freez­ers in their homes and later sup­ply it to shops and ho­tels. 10 fall sick af­ter con­sum­ing con­tam­i­nated food in Sahiwal:: At least 10 peo­ple fell sick and hos­pi­tal- ized af­ter eating con­tam­i­nated food here on Sun­day.— INP
