Deadly wheeling

Pakistan Observer - - OPINION - UMAR QADEER

Increasing trend of one wheeling and bike racing continues on busy roads of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, creating troubles for traffic as well. A large number of youngsters are involved in wheeling and bike stunt after removal of silencers from their bikes, particularly on Ninth Avenue, Kashmir Highway. With this they not only put their lives at stake but also that of other commuters.

Despite ban by Punjab government on one wheeling, the thrill loving youngsters miss no opportunity to show their stunts on the busy roads. They might be doing so to get the attention of other people but this indeed is a dangerous game that they are playing on the roads. I urge concerned authorities to take strict action against those playing this death game and impose heavy fine on them. — Islamabad
