Subh- e- Nau Na­tional Clay Court Tennis starts to­day

ISLAMABAD— The Subh- e- Nau ( SN) Na­tional Clay Court Tennis Cham­pi­onship 2016 will roll into ac­tion on Mon­day here at Pak­istan Tennis Fed­er­a­tion ( PTF) Com­plex.

The coun­try’s top seed play­ers would also be seen in ac­tion in the six- day cham­pi­onship, a spokesman of Subh- e- Nau said on Sun­day.

He said Pak­istan num­ber one Aqeel Khan, Davis Cup­per M. Abid, Shahzad khan, Heera Ashiq, M. Mu­das­sar, M. Muza­m­mil as well as top seed lady play­ers Sara Man­soor and Me­heq Khokhar were among oth­ers who would par­tic­i­pate in the event.

Mean­while, chair­per­son of the tour­na­ment or­ga­niz­ing com­mit­tee Shahida Kausar Fa­rooq, in a state­ment, said the tour­na­ment was an­other step of SN for pro­mot­ing the game of tennis in the coun­try.

She said for the last 26 years the SN had proved it­self as a torch- bearer in tennis pro­mo­tion ac­tiv­i­ties with a track record of host­ing dozens of international, na­tional and do­mes­tic events.

She said that clay court tennis events were re­vived by SN back in 2003 and since then it had been host­ing these events reg­u­larly on an­nual ba­sis.— APP
