Jha­gra seeks int’l com­mu­nity’s sup­port for TDPs dig­ni­fied re­turn

PESHAWAR—Bri­tish High Com­mis­sioner to Pak­istan, Thomas Drew called on the Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa Gover­nor, Engr. Iqbal Za­far Jha­gra here at KP House, Is­lam­abad on Mon­day and dis­cussed with him mat­ters of mu­tual in­ter­est with par­tic­u­lar ref­er­ence to the sit­u­a­tion in the re­gion.

The dis­tin­guished guest re­mained with the Gover­nor and high­lighted the steps un­der­way for en­sur­ing sus­tain­able peace and sta­bil­ity par­tic­u­larly in FATA and pointed out that govern­ment is tak­ing the re­spec­tive peo­ple along in all its mea­sures for en­sur­ing bet­ter fu­ture for them.

The Gover­nor also ap­prised him about the steps and en­deav­ors of the govern­ment to en­sure the dig­ni­fied re­turn and re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion of dis­placed per­sons.

So­cio-eco­nomic up­lift and well be­ing of the peo­ple of FATA will con­tinue to re­main a top pri­or­ity with spe­cial fo­cus on bring­ing fur­ther im­prove­ment in work­ing of health­care sys­tem and ed­u­ca­tional fa­cil­i­ties in the area, he added.

The Gover­nor wel­comed the In­ter­na­tional com­mu­nity for their sup­port in fur­ther strength­en­ing the on­go­ing ef­forts of the govern­ment in this re­gard. The in­ter­na­tional com­mu­nity should come for­ward and play their due role to en­sure the dig­ni­fied re­turn of TDPs and their re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion.
