Au­thor­i­ties di­rected to check dengue hot spots

RAWALPINDI—District Co­or­di­na­tion Of­fi­cer (DCO) Talat Mehmood Gon­dal has stressed the need for co­or­di­nated ef­forts to timely check hot spots and ef­fec­tive in­door out­door sur­veil­lance so that anti-dengue mea­sures could be made fruit­ful.

In a meet­ing here on Mon­day, the DCO said that erad­i­ca­tion of dengue was not re­spon­si­bil­ity of any in­di­vid­ual en­tity, but is joint re­spon­si­bil­ity of all govern­ment de­part­ments,lo­cal bod­ies and com­mu­nity to work to­gether and en­sure pre­emp­tive mea­sures to ad­dress the is­sue with­out any de­lay.

The DCO said that strict ac­tion would be taken against those show­ing neg­li­gence in per­for­mance of their du­ties.

He di­rected to clean grave­yards, tyre shops and godowns. He said all de­part­ments should play its role to make the cam­paign suc­cess­ful.

Among others, ADCG Im­ran Qurashi, ADC Arif Ra­heem, AC Tas­neem Ali Khan, Rana Hameed, DDHO Dr Faisal Lodhi, MD Solid Waste Man­age­ment Ir­fan Qurashi, District Of­fi­cer Civil De­fense San­jeda Khanum, WASA and RDA of­fi­cials at­tended the meet­ing.—APP
