Authorities directed to check dengue hot spots
RAWALPINDI—District Coordination Officer (DCO) Talat Mehmood Gondal has stressed the need for coordinated efforts to timely check hot spots and effective indoor outdoor surveillance so that anti-dengue measures could be made fruitful.
In a meeting here on Monday, the DCO said that eradication of dengue was not responsibility of any individual entity, but is joint responsibility of all government departments,local bodies and community to work together and ensure preemptive measures to address the issue without any delay.
The DCO said that strict action would be taken against those showing negligence in performance of their duties.
He directed to clean graveyards, tyre shops and godowns. He said all departments should play its role to make the campaign successful.
Among others, ADCG Imran Qurashi, ADC Arif Raheem, AC Tasneem Ali Khan, Rana Hameed, DDHO Dr Faisal Lodhi, MD Solid Waste Management Irfan Qurashi, District Officer Civil Defense Sanjeda Khanum, WASA and RDA officials attended the meeting.—APP
