Ex-FC of­fi­cial dies in po­lice shootout

PE­SHAWAR—A re­tired Fron­tier Corps of­fi­cial was killed dur­ing a shootout with po­lice in a lo­cal ho­tel here on Tues­day. The man who was killed in mys­te­ri­ous cir­cum­stances at Ban­gash Ho­tel in Dab­gari area had stayed in one of the ho­tel rooms Mon­day night.

“The per­son had iden­ti­fied him­self as Yahya, a res­i­dent of Wazir­sis­tan, at the time of tak­ing room in the ho­tel and stayed in room 24,” the po­lice of­fi­cer said. “The next morn­ing when ho­tel staff knocked at the door, he fired from in­side.”

The fir­ing prompted the ho­tel man­age­ment to call for ad­di­tional po­lice force which used tear gas to tackle the sus­pect, how­ever, when the fir­ing stopped the man was found dead in the room, the se­nior po­lice of­fi­cial main­tained.
