Ed­u­ca­tion bud­getary al­lo­ca­tion be­ing in­creased

ISLAMABAD— Min­is­ter for Fed­eral Ed­u­ca­tion and Pro­fes­sional Train­ing Ba­ligh Ur Rehman Wed­nes­day said the govern­ment was tak­ing concrete mea­sures to in­crease bud­getary al­lo­ca­tion for ed­u­ca­tion. Dur­ing ques­tion-hour in the se­nate, the min­is­ter said the ex­pen­di­ture on ed­u­ca­tion was around two per­cent of GDP, which was steadily in­creas­ing ac­cord­ing to fis­cal space. All gov­ern­ments in­clud­ing fed­eral and pro­vin­cial were com­mit­ted to achieve four per­cent of GDP, he added. Bed­sides, due to bet­ter tax to GDP ra­tio and growth in econ­omy (GDP), the prov­inces were get­ting much larger fis­cal space.
