IUB vet­eri­nary doc­tors visit Cholis­tan

OUR COR­RE­SPON­DENT BAHAWALPUR—A med­i­cal team of Col­lege of Vet­eri­nary and An­i­mal Sci­ences, Is­lamia Univer­sity of Bahawalpur (IUB) vis­ited dif­fer­ent ar­eas of Cholis­tan desert and ex­am­ined re­s­pi­ra­tory dis­ease in camels. The team mem­bers vis­ited desert Ranger’s camel farm in Mo­jh­garh, Chak No. 335 and 430 and Toba­jat Kun-dal and Mun­shi­wala.

They also col­lected blood and nasal sam­ples of ef­fected camels for lab­o­ra­tory tests. Univer­sity of Vet­eri­nary and An­i­mal Sci­ences La­hore and Pun­jab Live­stock and Dairy De­vel­op­ment De­part­ment were also present on the oc­ca­sion.

It is important to men­tion here that re­s­pi­ra­tory dis­ease among camels has been ob­served in some part­sof Thar and Cholis­tan desert. Pun­jab govern­ment dis­patched spe­cial teams to these ar­eas.
