Strict ac­tion to be taken against ab­sen­tee med­i­cal staff: Min­is­ter

KARACHI—Sindh Min­is­ter for Health Jam Me­htab Hus­sain Da­har Wed­nes­day said that he would take strict ac­tion against med­i­cal staff, es­pe­cially doc­tors, if they were found ab­sent from duty.

This he said while pay­ing a sur­prise visit to Sindh Govern­ment Hospi­tal Li­aquatabad, said a state­ment. He ex­pressed his dis­plea­sure over non avail- abil­ity of medicines and ab­sence of staff.

He vis­ited several wards and di­rected Med­i­cal Su­per­in­ten­dent Dr. Asad Ul­lah to make them func­tional prop­erly and he would not lis­ten any lame ex­cuse next time.

He fur­ther di­rected to make Gy­nae and nurs­ery for Neona­tal In­ten­sive care unit up to mark and they must work round the clock. The Health Min­is­ter ob­served that many wards such as dial­y­sis ward were closed.

He also ob­served that more doc­tors were as­signed for night du­ties as com­pared to gen­eral du­ties. Di­rec­tor Health Dr. Shakoor Ab­basi was also present dur­ing the visit.—APP
