MANDI BAHAUDDIN—A state of disorder prevails in the district and it seems that controlling authorities have completely fail to control the situation. Corruption continues in every government department including judiciary as well. Non-state actors in different groups of mafia are looting public.

Transport addas are run by powerful people who extort money from public in the name of Adda fee. Similarly there is another mafia that extorts money from public visiting District Courts and DHQ Hospitals and other public places like railway stations. It is very surprising this extortion takes place before policemen deployed there on duty.

Wheat procurement season has set in and distribution of gunny bags is in progress. Procedure for procurement is not being followed transparently specially in distribution of gunny bags among the farmers. Some farmers said that food controller was not issuing gunny bags to them on their turn despite their several trips to procurement centres.

They alleged that one has to grease palm of food officials to get the bags. They also alleged list of farmers with details of number of wheat crop acres are false. They said revenue officials never visit fields but prepare listing their offices. These lists include fake persons having no crop on ground.
