India for Trump’s victory, why?
ACTIVISTS of a right wing Indian Group Hindu Sena performed rituals in New Delhi on Wednesday and prayed for the victory of Republican candidate Donald Trump in the US Presidential elections. It is not the isolated incident of its kind as the Indian Americans have also been seen campaigning and raising funds for the Trump who since the start of race for the White House has only made controversial and unhinged statements especially against Islam and Pakistan.
This is an open secret that the Indian lobby is actively working in the United States to hurt the interests of Pakistan and it is also widely believed that it was because of their hectic efforts that the US Congress blocked the financial assistance for Pakistan to get F-16 fighter jets. As from day one, the Republican top runner is churning out anti Pakistan and anti-Islam venom especially against our nuclear programme, the Indians are seeing in him an ideal US President to keep Pakistan under constant pressure. The Indian Americans have also formed a political action committee which is actively working in the US to garner community level support for the Republican candidate. In the Facebook page, ‘The Hindus for Trump’, the Indians have gone so far as to place the business tycoon on the same pedestal as some of the Hindu gods. It is, however, yet to be seen as to who will make it to the White House and what kind of policies he or she will be pursuing, the anti Pakistan rhetoric on the part of India at this point of time will not be helpful in any manner to bring improvement in relations between the two countries. The negative Indian posture also disappoints those segments in Pakistan which strongly favour development of cordial relations and promotion of relations with New Delhi in different fields. Instead of pursuing the dirty path of undermining the interests of Pakistan either through RAW’s agents or its lobbying in major capitals, New Delhi should bury deep the old animosity and anti Pakistan mindset, and pursue the comprehensive dialogue process with sincerity for resolution of all outstanding disputes. Good neighbourly relations will help ensure bright and prosperous future for our future generations while passing on animosity to the next generations will only keep us insecure, underdeveloped and backward.
GUANGZHOU, also known as the City of Rams” and the “City of Flowers”, is the capital city of Guangdong Province, neighbouring the South China Sea, Hong Kong and Macao. As the largest economic, scientific and technological, educational and cultural centre and the sea, land and air comprehensive traffic hub of South China, Guangzhou is also known as the “Southern Gate” of China and one of the five central cities of the nation.
The Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) held its media dialogue on connectivity at Guangzhou from May 9 to 10, 2016. The site for the dialogue was aptly selected since Guangzhou is the home of business, industry, trade, communication and education. This port city was once the starting point for the ancient Marine Silk Route. It is from here that Zheng He, the ancient Chinese Mariner set out for his seven voyages during which he dispensed with Chinese merchandise but brought back great treasures, riches and won the hearts of the visiting ports and capitals through his skills of diplomacy.
Six centuries ago, Zheng He embarked upon his adventures with a fleet of 317 ships holding 28,000 crewmen and created history, putting China and Guangzhou on map of the world. The famed traveller from Genoa, Marco Polo also set foot here, thus Guangzhou is now destined to restate its position in history by becoming launching port of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, an integral part of Chinese President Xi
