Chair­man BISE in­spects HSSC exam cen­tres

RAWALPINDI—Chair­man, Board of In­ter­me­di­ate and Sec­ondary Ed­u­ca­tion (BISE) Rawalpindi, Dr. Muham­mad Za­reef Thurs­day vis­ited dif­fer­ent Higher Sec­ondary School Cer­tifi­cate (HSSC), In­ter exam cen­ters set up in dif­fer­ent schools of Tehsil Gu­jar Khan.

He said, all avail­able re­sources are be­ing mo­bi­lized for mak­ing the ex­am­i­na­tion process trans­par­ent. The Chair­man in­spected the ar­range­ments and in­quired from the stu­dents, who ex­pressed sat­is­fac­tion on the ar­range­ments.

The Chair­man dur­ing the visit is­sued or­ders for im­me­di­ate re­dres­sal of the com­plaints by some stu­dents. Later, talk­ing to me­dia he said, the Board is de­ter­mined to pro­vid­ing best fa­cil­i­ties to the stu­dents and is pur­su­ing a zero tol­er­ance pol­icy against cor­rup­tion. Keep­ing in view the se­cu­rity sit­u­a­tion, fool­proof ar­range­ments have been made, he said and in­formed that he him­self is mon­i­tor­ing all ar­range­ments in the ex­am­i­na­tion cen­ters and keeps visit­ing dif­fer­ent cen­ters set up in far-flung ar­eas of the di­vi­sion.

He warned that strict ac­tion would be taken against exam staff show­ing neg­li­gence in per­form­ing their re­spon­si­bil­i­ties. He said, “we should pro­vide the stu­dents a con­ducive en­vi­ron­ment to ap­pear in ex­am­i­na­tions and ex­cel on merit.”

The SOPs and in­struc­tions is­sued by Sec­re­tary Higher Ed­u­ca­tion, Pun­jab are be­ing fol­lowed strictly, he said adding, spe­cial vig­i­lance com­mit­tees have also been formed in four dis­tricts of Rawalpindi di­vi­sion. Re­fer­ring Pun­jab gov­ern­ment’s ini­tia­tives taken for pre­vent­ing cheat­ing, he said cer­tain mea­sures have been taken to con­trol it.
