Sit-in in Srinagar to show solidarity with JNU students
SRINAGAR—In occupied Kashmir, Ummat e Islami organized a sit-in at Press Enclave in Srinagar to express solidarity with the students of Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi.
The sit-in was organized by the party’s youth wing to express solidarity with Mujeeb Gatoo, Umar Khalid, Anirbhan and other JNU students. The university authorities have rusticated Anirban Umar for some semesters.
Financial penalty has been imposed on 14 students. Hostel facilities of two students have been withdrawn and the university has declared the campus out of bounds for two former students.
Ummat-e-Islami Chief Qazi Ahmed Yasir also joined the sit in and said.—KMS
