IRTI moot to cre­ate roadmap for com­pet­i­tive Is­lamic fi­nance

JED­DAH—The Is­lamic Re­search and Train­ing In­sti­tute (IRTI), a mem­ber of the Is­lamic De­vel­op­ment Bank Group, will hold a sem­i­nar on hu­man cap­i­tal de­vel­op­ment on May 13 in Jakarta, In­done­sia. IRTI is col­lab­o­rat­ing with Bank In­done­sia to or­ga­nize the sem­i­nar with the theme “Pro­duc­ing Com­pet­i­tive Hu­man Cap­i­tal for Eco­nomic Em­pow­er­ment”, in con­junc­tion with the 41st An­nual Meet­ing of the IDB Group.

The sem­i­nar will stim­u­late dis­cus­sion on var­i­ous is­sues of hu­man cap­i­tal pro­vi­sion, es­pe­cially in the Is­lamic fi­nance in­dus­try.

Gov­ern­ment of­fi­cials, aca­demics and pro­fes­sion­als will iden­tify the pre­vail­ing hu­man cap­i­tal chal­lenges in de­vel­op­ing coun­tries and ex­plore vi­able so­lu­tions, as well as for­mu­late a roadmap to bet­ter align Is­lamic fi­nance ed­u­ca­tion and em­ploy­a­bil­ity.

Deputy Gover­nor of Bank In­done­sia, Dr. Hen­dar, will give the open­ing ad­dress, to be fol­lowed by state­ments from the In­done­sian Min­is­ter of Re­search, Tech­nol­ogy and Higher Ed­u­ca­tion, Prof. H. Mo­hamad Nasir, and the Di­rec­tor Gen­eral of IRTI, Prof. Mo­hamed Azmi Omar. Sub­se­quent dis­cus­sions will fo­cus on the need for a strate­gic di­rec­tion per­tain­ing hu­man cap­i­tal de­vel­op­ment, IDB’s ca­pac­ity build­ing in­ter­ven­tions in In­done­sia, and strat­egy to foster hu­man cap­i­tal de­vel­op­ment in the Is­lamic fi­nance in­dus­try.—MNA
