He was talking to media persons for the first time after his recovery here at his residence alongside his father Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani.

He also thanked the people of Multan who celebrated his safe passage back home. To another question about his hardships, he responded that it was a “long story” and would dilate upon it later.

On the occasion, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani thanked US and Afghan forces for their efforts and termed Ali’s recovery little short of a miracle.

“I appreciate Afghan-US forces who made efforts for Ali’s recovery. Our family was thoroughly depressed and sad before Ali was found”.

He told media that his son was healthy and he was also writing notes for his book but the written matter was seized and burnt by militants.

It may be mentioned that Ali Gillani was kidnapped from outskirts of Multan on May 9, 2013 during the election campaign.

Meanwhile, a number of people, including friends and party workers had gathered outside Gilani’s residence and were seen distributing sweets to celebrate the happy occasion.
