RCB seals 30 prop­er­ties of tax de­fault­ers

RAWALPINDI—The Rawalpindi Can­ton­ment Board (RCB) en­force­ment team in a crack­down against prop­erty tax de­fault­ers on Fri­day sealed 30 prop­er­ties in dif­fer­ent ar­eas.

Ac­cord­ing to RCB spokesman, the civic body sealed the prop­er­ties in Sad­dar, Westridge, Naseer­abad, Tench Bhatta, Mas­rial, Awan Town, Dhoke Mus­ta­keem, Chungi No 22, and Pe­shawar Road as their own­ers could not pay prop­erty tax for the last sev­eral years.

The spokesman said, the RCB teams also dis­con­nected wa­ter sup­ply con­nec­tions of 40 do­mes­tic and com­mer­cial units in dif­fer­ent ar­eas as the own­ers failed to pay the wa­ter sup­ply charges while Rs 4.6 mil­lion wa­ter and prop­erty tax charges have been re­cov­ered dur­ing two days.

On the spe­cial di­rec­tive of Can­ton­ment Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer (CEO) Dr Saima Shah, cam­paign to re­cover wa­ter charges has been ac­cel­er­ated, he said and warned the res­i­dent that stern ac­tion would be taken against tax de­fault­ers.—APP
