IHC moved against SC Employees Cooperative Housing Society
ZUBAIR QURESHI ISLAMABAD—A petition has been filed in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the Supreme Court Employees Cooperative Housing Society (SCECHS).
A physically-challenged lawyer and member of the Islamabad District Bar has Muhammad Ali submitted before the single bench of the IHC comprising Justice Amer Farooq that he got membership of the SCECHS in 2003 but even after the passage of 13 years he has not been granted possession of the plot.
The petitioner submitted before the court that he had spent all his savings for the sake of his plot but unfortunately the society has not initiated development/construction of plots. Nominating the President of the society Ghulam Ghaus, Circle Registrar of the society, Registrar of the Supreme Court and other departments as respondents, the petitioner submitted that in 2008 the management of the society called a meeting of the members of the general body but in that meeting too only a few persons who are blue eyed boys of the management were called.
Justice Amer Farooq after hearing the arguments directed the petitioner to approach the Supreme Court in this regard since the apex court is already hearing the members of the SC employees housing society.
