Ju­ve­nile driv­ers to face strict ac­tion

RAWALPINDI—City Traf­fic Po­lice (CTP) have launched a com­pre­hen­sive cam­paign against ju­ve­nile driv­ers in the city.In a state­ment, act­ing Chief Traf­fic Of­fi­cer (CTO) Ifthikhar ul Haq said that strict ac­tion would be taken against ju­ve­nile driv­ers and added that their ve­hi­cles would be im­pounded as they pose risk to the lives of pas­sen­gers who board these ve­hi­cles.

He said that many ac­ci­dents took place due to the driv­ing by un­der age driv­ers as they were not aware of traf­fic rules and reg­u­la­tions.

He said the ju­ve­nile driv­ers drove rashly, in­dulged in over speed­ing and one wheel­ing which put other’s life in dan­ger.

The CTO said the war­dens had been di­rected that un­der age driv­ers should not be given any con­ces­sion and their ve­hi­cles should be im­pounded be­sides im­pos­ing fine.

He said it was prime duty of the par­ents not to hand over keys of the ve­hi­cle un­til they get a driv­ing li­cense. He urged cit­i­zens to co­op­er­ate with the traf­fic po­lice so that pre­cious lives could be saved. —APP
