A joint interrogation team (JIT) that has completed its investigations on the gangster for his alleged involvement in crimes reads that Uzair has confessed to the JIT that in 2010, one top police official had over phone asked him to come to the residence of a SSP and when he reached there, the police official asked him to finish Ghaffar Zikri, another high profile and notorious Lyari gangster.

The Lyari gangster Uzair in return demanded the police official to make police officers of choice as Station House Officers (SHO) of Kalri and Baghdadi Police Stations. The Lyari’s notorious gangster also asked the former Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiquar Mirza for placement of police officers of choice as SHOs of Kalri and Baghdadi PSs. SHOs who were placed in PSs on choice of Uzair were Imtiaz Niazi, Babar Hameed, Sanaullah, Malik Ayub, Abid Tanoli, Jawaid Balouch and Chand Khan Niazi.
