First Muslim Mayor

Pakistan Observer - - OPINION - MUHAMMAD HUSSAIN

British citizen of Pakistani origin Sadiq Khan has been elected as the first Muslim Mayor in London’s whole history. He defeated the candidate of the Conservative Party, Zach Goldsmith, a member of the billionaire family of the United Kingdom. Sadiq Khan has good ideas, Labour Democrats and Greens given voted for to him. He is a human rights lawyer by profession, and also a Member of the British Parliament. He is the son of a Pakistani bus driver. We congratulate Sadiq Khan from the core of our heart.

Now, Sadiq Khan, will assume responsibility of administering the business of one of the biggest and most developed capitals of Europe. Europe does not change its management system in the world; So Sadiq Khan may face administrative difficulties of any kind. However, the real test awaits, he being a Muslim will face a big challenge of discriminating lobbies in the context of the contemporary Muslim world scenario. After being Mayor of London City Sadiq Khan has been as powerful and strong personality. The European is the negative perception of Muslims. He is intelligent, enjoys popular support and will be able to prove his mettle in the European and non-Muslim mindsets. Sadiq Khan would hopefully be able to remove all misunderstandings in the world and would be a success. —Via email
