Au­thor­i­ties di­rected to check dengue hot spots

RAWALPINDI—Dis­trict Co­or­di­na­tion Of­fi­cer (DCO) Talat Mehmood Gon­dal has stressed the need for co­or­di­nated ef­forts to check vul­ner­a­ble spots and ef­fec­tive in­door out­door sur­veil­lance so that anti-dengue mea­sures could be made fruit­ful.

The DCO while chair­ing meet­ing, said erad­i­ca­tion of dengue was not the only re­spon­si­bil­ity of any in­di­vid­ual en­tity, but all gov­ern­ment de­part­ments, lo­cal bod­ies and com­mu­nity would have to work to­gether and en­sure pre­emp­tive mea­sures to ad­dress the is­sue with­out any de­lay.

He said that strict ac­tion would be taken against those show­ing neg­li­gence in per­for­mance of their du­ties. He di­rected to clean grave­yards, tyre shops and godowns.

He said all de­part­ments should play their due role to make the cam­paign suc­cess­ful.—APP
