Ar­range­ments be­ing fi­nal­ized for anti-po­lio drive in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI—The dis­trict health de­part­ment is fi­nal­iz­ing ar­range­ments for the five-day anti-po­lio drive, which will start in the Rawalpindi dis­trict on May 23, Ex­ec­u­tive Dis­trict Health Of­fi­cer Dr. Ar­shad Ali Sabir said on Sun­day.

Talk­ing to APP, he said,” We have taken spe­cial mea­sures to strengthen the cov­er­age dur­ing the anti-po­lio drive.” Se­nior staff of the dis­trict health de­part­ment would be de­puted to mon­i­tor ac­tiv­i­ties dur­ing the cam­paign, he added.

Dr Ar­shad said spe­cial coun­ters would be es­tab­lished at pub­lic parks, rail­way sta­tions, bus stands, wagon stands, air­port and other tran­sit points to ad­min­is­ter anti-po­lio drops to the chil­dren so that no child up to the age of five years could re­main unat­tended. He hoped that the cam­paign would be re­sult-ori­ented and the set tar­get would be achieved.—APP
