Government promoting grower-friendly policies
VEHARI—Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Housing, MNA Syed Sajid Mehdi Saleem said that the government is promoting growers friendly policies to achieve the destiny of self-sufficiency in agriculture.
He said that 70 percent of the total population of the country have lived in rural areas and connected with agriculture sector.
Sajid Mehdi expressed these views while addressing the Kissan convention held at Agriculture university Faisalabad sub-campus Burewala.
He said that agriculture sector has vital role for improving the economic condition of growers and boosting the country’s economy.
He said that Punjab government had assured earmarking Rs one billion for Burewala campus in upcoming budget adding that it would be helpful to build new departments in the sub-campus.
Vice Chancellor agriculture university Faisalabad Dr Iqrar Baqir said that it was dire need to adopt Kisan friendly policies as we spent huge amount for import of agri-commodities.
Agriculture experts provided information to growers regarding modern agriculture and Livestock farming, kitchen gardening, and increasing mango and cotton production. On this occasion, vegetable-seeds were distributed among the growers.
