Trib­als de­mand col­leges, Tangi Khisaur dam

PESHAWAR—Mehsud tribe from South Waziris­tan Agency (SWA) in FATA on Mon­day de­mand of the gov­ern­ment to set up Med­i­cal and En­gi­neer­ing Col­leges in the agency be­sides con­struc­tion of Tangi KHisaur dam in the area.

In a press con­fer­ence held here at Peshawar Press Club, a jirga of tribal el­ders of Mehsud triba rep­re­sented by Ab­dul Karim Khan Mehsud, Naseer ud Din Mehsud, Noor Khan, Kabul Khan, Shahzada Wazrisi­tan and Dost Muham­mad Khan also de­mand re­view­ing of com­pen­sa­tion pack­age for the tribal peo­ple of FATA.

They said that the Mehsud tribe was the most af­fected from the mil­i­tary op­er­a­tion and ter­ror­ism, adding that the tribe’s peo­ple have lost most of their prop­er­ties and fam­i­lies in the op­er­a­tion against the anti state el­e­ments.

They told me­dia that the Mehsud tribe de­mands the gov­ern­ment to re­view the com­pen­sa­tion pack­age for the af­fected peo­ple and pay the amount af­ter assess­ing their loss of lives and prop­er­ties.

They said that NGOs should be bound to pro­vide em­ploy­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties to lo­cal peo­ple while Red Cres­cent FATA should be al­low to ex­tend their relief ac­tiv­i­ties to SWA.
