Tribals demand colleges, Tangi Khisaur dam
PESHAWAR—Mehsud tribe from South Waziristan Agency (SWA) in FATA on Monday demand of the government to set up Medical and Engineering Colleges in the agency besides construction of Tangi KHisaur dam in the area.
In a press conference held here at Peshawar Press Club, a jirga of tribal elders of Mehsud triba represented by Abdul Karim Khan Mehsud, Naseer ud Din Mehsud, Noor Khan, Kabul Khan, Shahzada Wazrisitan and Dost Muhammad Khan also demand reviewing of compensation package for the tribal people of FATA.
They said that the Mehsud tribe was the most affected from the military operation and terrorism, adding that the tribe’s people have lost most of their properties and families in the operation against the anti state elements.
They told media that the Mehsud tribe demands the government to review the compensation package for the affected people and pay the amount after assessing their loss of lives and properties.
They said that NGOs should be bound to provide employment opportunities to local people while Red Crescent FATA should be allow to extend their relief activities to SWA.
