SHC ad­journs Ayyan’s plea hear­ing over ECL is­sue

KARACHI—Sindh High Court (SHC) on Mon­day has ad­journed hear­ing of case re­gard­ing re-in­clu­sion of Ayyan Ali’s name in Exit Con­trol List (ECL) un­til to­mor­row (Wed­nes­day).

Sar­dar La­teef Khan Khosa, coun­sel for the pe­ti­tioner stated that Ali was not al­lowed to board a flight twice at an air­port fol­low­ing Supreme Court of Pak­istan (SCP) ver­dict.

Supreme Court had or­dered au­thor­i­ties to re­move his client’s name from the ECL, he added.

He al­leged In­te­rior Min­istry of com­mit­ting con­tempt of court as her name was not omit­ted from the list de­spite the or­der.

Ad­di­tional At­tor­ney Gen­eral Sal­man Tal­ibud­din, of­fer­ing re­but­tal in the court­room said that Ali’s name was readded to the list af­ter a no­ti­fi­ca­tion was is­sued on April 16.

Ear­lier Supreme Court had up­held Sindh High Court’s ver­dict in the case.

The high court had per­mit­ted the show busi­ness model to travel abroad or­der­ing min­istry to take re­quired steps in the mat­ter..
