Bid to smug­gle weapons foiled, two ar­rested

ISLAMABAD—Po­lice foiled an at­tempt to smug­gle huge quan­tity of weapons in Tarnol area out­side Islamabad on late Sun­day night and ar­rested two ac­cused.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice sources, a large cache of weapons and am­mu­ni­tion were be­ing smuggled to Pun­jab from Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa prov­ince through a ve­hi­cle and po­lice de­ployed on Tarnol checked post stopped the ve­hi­cle and upon search a huge quan­tity of weapons in­clud­ing 63 pis­tols, 8,800 bul­lets, two SMGs, two M-Fours, 18 twelve bore guns, were re­cov­ered.

Po­lice sources fur­ther in­formed that three kilo­grams of hashish was also re­cov­ered from the ve­hi­cle. Fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tion was un­der­way.
