Bari wins Mr Pak­istan, Zaib Ju­nior Mr Pak­istan ti­tles

PESHAWAR—Ab­dul Bari of Sindh and Shahzaib of Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa clinched the ti­tles of the Mr. Pak­istan and Ju­nior Mr. Pak­istan con­tests held for the first time in Wadoo­dia Hall, District Swat on Mon­day.

More than 100 play­ers and 60 of­fi­cials took part in 12 dif­fer­ent weight categories in­clud­ing six ju­nior and as many se­nior classes be­fore short-list­ing one each top po­si­tion of the Ju­nior and Se­nior Class for Mr. Pak­istan and Ju­nior Mr. Pak­istan Body­build­ing Con­tests held with the fi­nan­cial sup­port of Direc­torate of Sports Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa.

Mem­ber Pro­vin­cial As­sem­bly Fazale-Ha­keem graced the oc­ca­sion as chief guest. Di­rec­tor Op­er­a­tion KP Sports Board Tariq Mehmood, Or­ga­niz­ing Sec­re­tary and Sec­re­tary of the Pak­istan Body­build­ing Fed­er­a­tion Tariq Pervez, DSO Syed Saqlain Shah and a good num­ber of game spec­ta­tors were also present and wit­nessed the thrill-packed con­tests. Speak­ing on this oc­ca­sion, MPA Fazal-e-Ha­keem lauded Pak­istan Body­build­ing Fed­er­a­tion for or­ga­niz­ing the event in Swat wherein more than 100 play­ers and 60 of­fi­cials from all across Pak­istan took part.

He said it is good that the lo­cal play­ers from Malakand Di­vi­sion were also part of the pres­ti­gious Mr.Pak­istan and Ju­nior Mr. Pak­istan ti­tles. He also ex­pressed great sat­is­fac­tion over hold­ing the Mr. Pak­istan and Ju­nior Mr. Pak­istan Body­build­ing Con­tests in District Swat. It would cer­tainly pro­vide due op­por­tu­ni­ties to the youth of Malakand Di­vi­sion as­so­ci­ated with this game, MPA Fazal-e-Ha­keen Khan added. He said the present gov­ern­ment is giv­ing due im­por­tant to sports and more such na­tional level events would be or­ga­nized and sup­port in Swat so that the soft im­age of Swat,also fa­mous as lit­tle Switzer­land of Pak­istan, to the rest of the world.

He said, the peo­ple of Swat in par­tic­u­lar and the Malakand Di­vi­sion in gen­eral have suf­fered a lot due to in­sur­gency and mil­i­tancy. Now with the suc­cess­ful op­er­a­tion against the mil­i­tants and ren­der­ing great sac­ri­fices by the peo­ple and jawans of se­cu­rity forces peace has been re­stored to Swat val­ley which clearly judge from the fact that more than 100 mus­cle­men came to Swat for the na­tional event from var­i­ous part of the coun­try, he re­marked.

He also lauded the or­ga­niz­ing com­mit­tee for or­ga­niz­ing the event in be­fit­ting man­ners. In his wel­come ad­dress, Or­ga­niz­ing Sec­re­tary Tariq Pervez dis­closed that it is the 64th edi­tion of the Mr. Pak­istan and Ju­nior Mr. Pak­istan Body­build­ing Con­tests.

He said as de­sired by Min­is­ter Sports Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa the event was or­ga­nized suc­cess­fully in Swat val­ley. He thanked the Min­is­ter and Direc­torate of Sports for en­sur­ing all fi­nan­cial sup­port in this con­nec­tion. Later, the chief guest gave away tro­phies and cash prizes.

The Mr. Pak­istan ti­tle win­ner was awarded Rs. 0.1 mil­lion while Ju­nior Mr. Pak­istan got Rs. 50,000 as cash prizes. Tro­phies and cash prizes were also awarded to the class win­ners of all 12 categories be­sides po­si­tion hold­ers in each of the 12 weight categories.—APP
