Tri­als for se­lec­tion of Pun­jab hockey teams

LA­HORE—Pun­jab Hockey As­so­ci­a­tion will hold tri­als for the se­lec­tion of its teams to take part in the U-18 Boys Hockey Cham­pi­onship be­ing played from May 22 at Naseer Bunda Hockey Sta­dium, Jin­nah Sports Com­plex, Islamabad.

“We will field­ing as many as four teams in the com­pe­ti­tion and will be se­lect­ing our teams purely on merit from two-day tri­als com­menc­ing here from May 18 at na­tional hockey sta­dium,” said the newly elected Sec­re­tary, PHA, Lt Col (r) Muham­mad Asif Khokhar here on Mon­day. In all six­teen teams from dif­fer­ent parts of the coun­try will be tak­ing part in the na­tional jr cham­pi­onship.

He said PHA has a con­sti­tuted a four mem­bers se­lec­tion com­mit­tee, com­pris­ing Khawaja Muham­mad Ju­naid, Khalid Bashir, Tahir Zaman and Aleem Raza to watch the play­ers in ac­tion dur­ing the tri­als.— APP
