PTI to rout ri­vals in AJK polls: Sul­tan

OUR COR­RE­SPON­DENT CHOWKI SAMAHNI, AJK—Pres­i­dent AJK PTI and ex-premier Bar­ris­ter Sul­tan Mehmood Chaudhry has pre­dicted that in­creas­ing pop­u­lar­ity of his party would soon wipe out the po­lit­i­cal in­flu­ence of all other ri­val par­ties in AJK. “Peo­ple are join­ing PTI daily in larger num­bers prov­ing that the day is not far off when my party would emerge a dom­i­nant po­lit­i­cal forces in the state. I am de­ter­mined to root out pol­i­tics of loot­ers and swindlers once for all. PTI is sure to win 2/3 par­lia­men­tary ma­jor­ity in the com­ing gen­eral elec­tions be­cause of its pop­u­lar­ity among the masses”, he stated this in his pub­lic ad­dress here on Tues­day.

He is tour­ing the area to mo­bi­lize pop­u­lar at­ten­dance in the com­ing pub­lic ad­dress by PTI Chair­man Mr Im­ran Khan on May 19, his first in that far flung area of Bhim­ber re­gion. Samahni is al­most ad­ja­cent to the Line of Con­trol. “I wel­come that the in­formed peo­ple are shun­ning will­ingly the ages old trib­al­ism and clan­nish­ness which have eaten into the vi­tales of the col­lec­tivism of the so­ci­ety”, he com­mented.

Samhani has been my an­ces­tral elec­toral con­stituency and I shall re­tain that supremacy at all costs. Peo­ple of this val­ley have no be­come a gar­land of mixed flow­ers (re­fer­ring to trib­al­ism); Many vil­lage elite joined PTI on the oc­ca­sion as­sur­ing ded­i­cated ef­forts by them to help solve chronic so­cio-eco­nomic is­sues of the val­ley peo­ple. Bar­ris­ter Sul­tan said that af­ter com­ing into power his party gov­ern­ment would set up a new so­ci­ety free from cor­rup­tion, so­cial prej­u­dices, il­lit­er­acy, and justice-thirsty. He wel­comed new party join­ers and as­sured them of hon­or­able sta­tus in the party hi­er­ar­chy.
