SBCA officials, demolishing squad extorting money in connivance with NGOs
KARACHI—Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has failed to end liaison with typical NGOs which are meant to mint money from Karachiites who repair or construct their homes or from those Karachiites who invest their money in elevating their already existing homes in form of additional floor.
The SBCA has made it an impossible task for the Karachiites to elevate their homes and the people get exhausted by visiting the SBCA and completing the required formalities. However, if the NGOs are bribed, the SBCA keeps eyes closed.
In majority, citizens in their individual capacity are worst affected while influ- ential and property builders are exempted and allowed to deceive the investors even without completing required documents and without obtaining prior no objection certificates.
The NGOs that are blackmailing the Karachiites do not do any other work except tracing people and filing complaints at the SBCA mentioning plot number, setor or phase number and area.
Agents of blackmailing NGOs provide snaps of the under construction homes and the SBCA team of the area concerned arrives at that particular plot and either mints money from the person who is elevating his home or demolishes the under construction part of building for failing to get the bribe. nallah.
In past, SBCA which was previously Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA) had punished dozens of NGOs’ leaders and journalists as they were caged inside the KBCA and beaten worst. However, the menace still prevailing in full form and many publishers and news editors of dummy newspapers, dummy periodicals are extorting money from the simple people.
The SBCA controllers, demolishing squad, and others are working in close coordination with the blackmailing NGOs and publishers and editors of dummy newspapers. Presently, these blackmailers are active in Liaquatabad, Nazimabad, New Karachi, North Karachi, Gulberg, F B Area and Malir. photo by Syed Rizwan
